Every single day I receive mail asking for donations for this cause or that. I get them from all sorts of groups, some of which I donate to, like the USO, VFW and other Veteran's groups and some of which I don't give to. I also donate to Supporting Heroes and our Lodge Auxiliary's Relief Fund.
I was contacted yesterday to see if there was something we could do to help a fellow officer. Tragedy has struck Brother Michael Parsons and his Family. The home of Boone County Deputy Sheriff Michael Parsons burned to the ground several nights ago. It was a complete loss including the family car which was in the garage at the time of the fire.
This family thought they lost everything, they soon discovered that they still had each other and they have a community that is coming behind them to help fill those immediate needs of food, clothing and shelter.
The Emergency Services Community (Police, Fire, EMS, Corrections, 911 Call Takers and Dispatchers and civilian personnel are all pitching in to help along with community members that truly do support us in what we do every day.
Here are some of the clothing sizes:
Boy 5T (shoes 12-1), Girl Size 5 T (10 - 10 1/2), Women's (April) Size 16 pants, 1X - 2X top (Shoes 9 - 9 1/2), Men's (Mike) Size 2X Shirt, Pants 44? waist, 32? Length. They also need bed clothes & winter coats.
