Taser discharge prompts investigation

Two Jefferson County sheriffs deputies have been suspended with pay while officials investigate the accidental discharge of a taser that struck a court employee.

One of those deputies apparently shot a judge's clerk with his Taser at the Hall of Justice, according to Deputy Circuit Court Clerk Larry Bond.

Bond says the judge's clerk was startled but didn't require medical attention after he was hit with the Taser Friday.

Bond believes a deputy sheriff was changing the cartridge in his Taser gun when it accidentally went off.

A spokesman for the sheriff's office will only say that they're investigating an unauthorized use of a Taser.
