This has been a violent weekend in the Metro. Investigators are now looking into three separate incidents that have left three men hospitalized and another dead.

"I woke up this morning and I had seen some people talking and crying and stuff," said Valerie Warfield.

Warfield didn't know what happened. She just knew that her neighbors needed help. That's why she called 911 to the 4200 block Fordson Way.

Officers came to the home across the street at 4229 Fordson Way just after 10 a.m. Saturday. Inside the home, police say they found a man dead in the basement.

LMPD spokesperson, Det. Phil Russell, tells WAVE 3 that officers found the male victim in his 40's and determined that he had been assaulted. Russell says the victim lived in the home, but they don't know when he died. Investigators are trying to find out who is responsible and were questioning a man they are calling a "person of interest."

Valerie Warfield says that she didn't know the victim or any adults who lived in the home. The neighbors just moved in about four to six months ago.

Now, Warfield hopes that her neighborhood will be drama-free and a better place for everybody.

The name of the man killed has not been released by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
