Law enforcement from around the Metro gather to address the increase in violent crime.
There have been 20 homicides in 2015, compared to three at this same time last year.
LMPD Chief Steve Conrad announced the formation of a task force made up of members of the FBI, DEA, ATF and the U.S. Marshall's office.
"Operation Trust" will focus on the conditions that lead to violent crime, such as drug trafficking.
Conrad appealed to the community for help, asking people to come forward if they witness crime, and for parents to be more involved in the life of their children.
