A woman has died after being shot by officers during a SWAT situation Wednesday night.

That woman is 39-year-old Tracy Wade, according to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office. She was pronounced dead at 11:38 at University Hospital last night, of multiple gunshot wounds.

The LMPD SWAT team was sent to a home on Roaming Plains Court in the Indian Falls subdivision, near the interchange between Preston Highway and the Gene Snyder Freeway in the Indian Falls subdivision just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the Wade told the officers she had a gun along with her 18-month-old son inside, so they left and started talking with her from outside the home.

Around 11 o'clock Wednesday night, Wade agreed to come out of the house, police say.

When the SWAT team went to meet her, she pointed a gun at officers.

The child is fine and is with his father.

Four officers are now on administrative duties.
