Louisville Metro Police say an officer involved shooting near a Pleasure Ridge Park McDonald's involved someone wanted for a recent homicide.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. Thursday in the 6400 block of Greenwood Road near Terry Lane. WAVE 3 News reporter Katie Bauer has learned Metro police were conducting surveillance on a person wanted for the August 12 deadly shooting at Crawford Crossing Apartments.

Paul Barber, 21, was killed around 10 p.m. when a group of armed men broke into an apartment in the 6800 block of Crawford Crossing Place off Dixie Highway. Barker was trying to run out of the apartment when he was killed. His one-week-old son and three other adults, including his fiancee, were at the apartment when the home invasion happened.

The suspect, whose name has yet to be released, was in the back seat of a car and fired on two detectives. The detectives, both of whom were on foot, fired back injuring two people in the car, including the suspect.

Earlier in the day Metro police made one arrest in Barber's murder, Shakahakeen Boyd, 21. Investigators said Boyd and three other men were armed with guns when they broke into the apartment.

The injuries to those wounded are reported to be non-life threatening. No officers were injured.
