Not sinking, but certainly listing. There are plenty of well-qualified officers who would love to come to LMPD - but aren't willing to go through six MORE months of training to do a job they've been doing quite well (and in some cases, IN Jefferson County) for years. LMPD retirees would freak out if expected to go back through six months of basic training to take another law enforcement job. I keep hearing that - we need people, we're shorthanded, etc. Well, HIRE!!!
