New Kentucky State Police cruisers will be Chevrolets instead...

June 14th, 2012 @ 9:10AM (12 years ago)

Well at least they dont get special cars. They do not get the mustangs and chargers cameros and so forth. ON another note.... I was doing 70 mph this morning on I65. The speed limit was 65. An officer was going 85 to 90 without lights on. So my question is WHY do most police think they are entitled to drive faster than the speed limit? If you are late for court then you need to leave earlier. Yes, I was going over the limit but he was going WAY over the limit. This will make some of you mad but it is a question that most Americans want to know....WHy???? I see it as this ,You need to enforce the law but you must set an example of those laws that need to be obeyed.I am sure some of your answers will be.... "CAUSE WE CAN".. that is someone with low mentality to think that way and a BIG EGO. I just want a straight answer for once on this site without someone ripping me apart for voicing an opinion and asking a question that MANY MANY people ask

The responses to this article is the reason I just use this site to play games. There is always someone going on about something not related to the original article posted. It all kind of sounds like Charlie Brown's teacher talking to me, just a bunch of noise.

I think the Chevrolets are a better choice than the Fords Taurus. The front wheel drive cars were tried and they do not hold up under the conditions they are used in Police work.

Also, the fuel mileage is similar while having more power.

Told ya ford f-ed up when they stopped making the vic. How many other agencies will look into other makes? Not to mention (some) mechanics have many years of expierence on the vic, specialty tools, know the common faults, extra parts, etc. All washed away. Good luck with the Taurus I love the lights in the back that point up. Should stop u.p.s. planes from hitting us.

KSP has an image to upload and this new Chevy cruiser does nothing positive for that image. Ford is part of the thin gray line. When motorists and citizens see a Ford cruiser, they stand-up and take notice. It speaks volumes for the authority KSP has. I understand that the current Ford cruiser is no longer an option, but whomever chose this car to represent KSP made a mistake. It is a shame that city and county agencies who opted to outfit the Dodge Charger will have better looking cruisers than what is supposed to be the premier law enforcement agency in the state. I know looks aren't everything, but this car lacks authority. Did anyone think to ask their Troopers what they would feel comfortable driving??

KSP, thanks for supporting Kentucky and OUR automobile industry. I factually know there isn't that large of an increase in price to get the new FORD alternative. Further more TOYOTA makes exceptional vehicles. Isn't OUR state worth investing a few more dollars in a FORD or TOYOTA.
