Tentative contract agreement offered to Louisville Metro EMS...

April 27th, 2012 @ 4:37PM (12 years ago)

The new contract includes a 2 percent increase, and a 1 percent increase for several years after that, paid leave days will not count as time worked (when you work towards OT). Lets face it our contract will not be much better.

I think miney is there.... The city spends tooooo much money on NON PRIORITIES. LMPD is one of the lowest if not the lowest paid dept in the country..... We deserve more and the city should focus on public safety priorities.

How can LMEMS be without a contract for 2 years and the teamsters bring back such a crappy offer. How embarrassing...... 2%, 1%,1%,1% and cut OT if u use sick or Vac time......WOW, I dont see how that could ever pass!!!

The Courier Journal is saying an officer was struck last night by a drunk driver. I notice they will not release the officer's name though. Please tell me why not? What is the big deal? What is the secret? If the officer was accussed (repeat, accussed) of any kind of misconduct, his or her name would be splashed all over the news without mercy. I doubt if anyone can give me an acceptable answer to this practice because there is none.

How many of you have gone to http://services.louisvilleky.gov/salarylookup/ (copy and paste) and looked under each "department" and "Agency" and look at all the ridiculous created/made up jobs and the outrageous bloated salaries. NO WONDER THERE IS NO MONEY FOR PUBLIC SAFETY, POLICE, FIRE AND EMS. MAKES ME WANNA PUKE!

Contract and MONEY

Gotta love the Mayor and Metro Government. Even after giving Blue and the other PRIVATE investors in Whiskey Row a 1.3 million dollar FORGIVABLE loan they are in favor of giving them another million dollars. All this to save the facade of the buildings. Now I understand these are or were beautiful architecture but when metro government is claiming they are poor and cannot give their workers fair raises this is NOT the time to give the tax payers money away to PRIVATE MILLIONAIRES for their private ventures. Mr. Blue has already received enough of tax payer funds with his failed Museum Plaza venture. He also received a parking lot or two to do with what he wants for little to no money. It is a little hard to believe they have no money to buy proper equipment or give raises when they are so free to give out forgivable loans for private business. Even more so when they give it to millionaires to improve their ownership within Metro Louisville. I do have a serious question, where was occupy Louisville during the announcement of this use of taxpayers money given to the rich? If they are against money being wasted on the rich this would have been a great forum for them to protest against. OH I forgot, everyone involved are democrats so they are safe from the protest of the occupiers.

Remember as long as you vote these "GIVE NOTHING" contracts in, that is what you will continue to receive from this city, nothing. Tell them to take their no increase contract and "STICK IT" where the sun doesn't shine. This city has money to give, just not to their employees. Your a number and expense and nothing else. Just look at all the jacked up salaries on the CJ site you will see where all the money is going. Hel Barb Shanklin has a grandson on her payroll doing nothing and making more than a start out officer. Something is really wrong in this city gov't, but nothing will ever be done. Same ol SHI$ as when Jer was in office, just new players.
