Steve Conrad to be new Louisville chief, source says

I am surprised 10 hour shifts are allowed in patrol in the first place. Those hours might do a little for morale, but really, anyone who works that long will be exhausted past the normal 8 hours. I'll bet any study will show an increase in complaints against officers who work 10's vs. 8's. Also, seems to me the platoons are always short and it can be traced to a 10 work schedule. Many will disagree, but a lot of the disagreement is for selfish reasons.
