RE: FOP not to endorse a chief candidate
I completely disagree. Yvette Gentry needs to be sent packing out west with former Chief White. She is unqualified for the position and doesn't know how to handle the stress. The department needs an entirely new set of leadership and a new direction. Both Vince and Yvette are Chief White leftovers in a time when we have the opportunity for fresh leadership. I have an opinion on which of the 3 remaining candidates I would rather see get the position but any of them would be a better choice than staying with current leadership.
RE: FOP not to endorse a chief candidate
I have no personal issues with Gentry or Robison, but I legitimately want to know how you can look at all 5 of those resumes side by side and say that she should be one of the final 2? First of all, NONE of the other candidates come close to the experience and qualifications Sanders brings to the table. Second, Gentry falls even more short of the bar set by Sanders. I don't work for LMPD so I don't have personal stake in this like some of you do, but as an intelligent informed individual, no one can look at those resumes and truly believe Gentry should honestly even be in the running with the others. She serves as a one-two punch for the whiners of this city. There had to be a woman and someone of color in the final pool. That is her sole accomplishment in this race for Chief.

RE: FOP not to endorse a chief candidate
Unfortunately, there is very little unity between the rank and file; we have already been divided and conquered.
