Fischer Names Candidates for Police Chief

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has released the names of five candidates for chief of police.

Former Chief Robert White has left to be chief of the Denver Police Department. All of the candidates vying to replace him have local ties. First is Steve Conrad, who is the chief of the Glendale, Arizona Police Department and a former assistant chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders and Owensboro Chief Glen Skeens are also finalists. And two current LMPD deputy chiefs-Vincent Robinson and Yvette Gentry-made the list as well.

Fischer plans to announce the new chief in April. The LMPD is currently led by interim Chief Ishmon Burks.

SANDERS FOR CHIEF!

Mayor Fischer try asking the people that will have to work for your choice who they want. I assure you they don't want more of the same they already have. Crime is beyond out of control in Louisville despite the best efforts of those in charge of LMPD now to cover that up. It's time for change my friend, three of those five had thier chance and wasted it. Let's actually move Louisville forward for a change!

WLKY has each of the finalist resume's on line. I think from expierence on the resume' only... in my opinion it goes from Conrad, Sanders, Robison, Skeens, and Gentry...

This is real simple. She was intellectual competition. He was afraid she would uncover is incompetence. He was afraid because the public and the officers liked her. Bob White is a coward.
