RE: Sixteen apply for Louisville police chief's post
Agreed! Too bad attitudes like these run rampant around here. As for me? I'm grateful to have a job and job security in these tough times and I will do anything I'm asked within policy guidelines. What's even more sad than the attitude is the shamelessness in posting about it online. Of course, plenty of people talk a big game behind the cloak of anonymity.

RE: Sixteen apply for Louisville police chief's post
I give it a shot. I do not begrudge any one (including traffic) from doing their job or needing assistance. But when you CONSTANTLY take a car off of the street to transport for you, you are taking manpower away from that division. Please tell my why is it that all traffic cars need to be unmarked without cages? They can catch just as many speeders with marked cars as they can unmarked. Marked cars would allow them easier movement in traffic as their lights can be seen. They can also be seen while they are blocking off accident scenes (the ones they take). Before you tell me I am full of **** I can tell you I used to work in traffic before merger and about half the unit had marked cars and did their jobs efficiently. I for one would like to see them get out of all the unmarked cars and back into marked vehicles with cages. We don't even need to get into the amount of $$$ that can be saved from all the special cars they need or special lights on those vehicle. I don't mind if you disagree with this but can you back it up with reason?

RE: Sixteen apply for Louisville police chief's post
I won't apologize for my opinion that backing up my beat/sector partners on runs with unknown circumstances comes before transporting for a traffic car with a prisoner that is 10-86. And before you ask, YES our division is running so short that 1 car off the beat WILL leave someone without backup.
