At least 600 DUI cases in jeopardy because of lapsed Breathalyzer certifications |

I have to agree brother. I have a friend that works for one of the smaller dept.'s here in Jefferson County and he has been sent out of state for training and has had a ton more training than the averarge 10 year LMPD officer. Whats up with that. Maybe our mayor should touch base with some of the suburban mayors and see how they do things.

And it is sad that for example, the young guys that graduate in Richmond and come back here and work, for example, for Shively aren't allowed to use what they are certified to do. KVE does, however, always do their own Intox in Jefferson County, they actually are obligated to let anyone certified use the equipment as they don't actually own it anyway, the state does. Why doesn't, at least, the Traffic guys get certified in Intox? You have to stick around anyway, why not do your own so that we don't have to pay TWO people to come to court when only one should be needed? Once you get certified it is easy to keep it up, I think it is 4 hours every two years.
I'm highly impressed, someone who actually understands it!
