At least the Denver Post has the courage to print it.

They have printed numerous stories calling White's integrity into question and Denver's Mayor and staff are blaming it on Denver Police Officers fearful of change.

One article takes the cake with a few words by White:

White, who still is in Louisville, said Monday the issues regarding the survey were because the department was combining jurisdictions, and officers were upset about changes.

He said he would take a polygraph and drug test only if the mayor asked but not for the police union.

"It is an absurd thing to even ask because it questions my credibility and character," he said - adding that all he seeks is for officers to give him a chance.

"What I would say to them is, 'Calm down,' " he said. " 'Everything is going to be OK. Let me get there; give me an opportunity.' "

"I think the union will see that I care about police officers..."

That is a lie. Denver officers be advised that Chief White made the following statement to my in-service class 4 years ago:

"I don't care what you think about me or what you think of how I run this department. I am not here for you and I don't need to impress you. You work for me. I do not work for you."

I may be a little off on the wording, I cannot remember the exact order of words, but this was a statement by him to approximately 40 officers. He was talking to us about the department's morale problems and was bringing up comments made about him from the website. Those words stunned every officer in the room. You could have heard a pin drop.
