Louisville settles police sexual-harassment case for $50,000

I will not start this off by discrediting the work that "Hobble Wobble" has done in the 8th, because I will be one of the first to tell you that he is a d*mn fine Cop. I will also not listen to the crap anymore about people bashing my unit and the Brothers and Sisters that work in Narcotics with me. They are some of the best Cops on this Department and for someone to label "Us" as a "Shortbus of Windowlickers" probably has'nt been around this Department very long. When you have guys that probably have forgotten more about investigating dope than most of you will know, guys like Timmy McConnell, Darren Hodges, Mike Brackett, Steve Boughey, Derrick Payne, Chis Sanders, Sue Williams, Brian Nunn, Bobby Coomer ( one of the most knowledgeable k-9 handlers ever) and even when he was here Mike Halbleib. These guys were the people that my generation looked up too and wanted to learn from, guys like me, Kevin McKinney, Jeff Lee, Billy Pearson, Tony James, Jimmy Adams, Barron Morgan, Chauncy Carthan, Charlie Newman. Then the new crop that have recently come up and work their tails off, Beth Ruoff, Jim Kaufling, Mickey King, Dave Haight, Tramont Banks, Antoine Frye, Will LeFleure, and Andy Eichenberger. If I've forgotten anyone I'm sorry but these guys and girls are not only my co-workers but they are my Brothers and Sisters and I trust them with my life. Sure families have disagreements and may bicker some times but thats ok if youre in the family and if someone attacks my family I will be the first to defend them. Do we have alot of other duties to do along with keeping up with our cases ? Yes we do ( Summer Task Force, looking for wanted subjects etc). Are all arrests and seizures always documented at the time or do people get indicted later so as to work up the ladder to get the larger dealers. Yes they do and if you dont believe me, ask Halbleib. Do we always send out locations and seizures on the Sig Act reports? No, working up the ladder thing I just discussed. Would Mike have been a great addition to Narcotics? H@ll yes he would've been but his schedule would'nt permit it .Period. This is the best unit on this Department filled with some of the most talented and hardest working Cops on this Department. Why did (41) people apply for the last vacancies? Have some people left? Yes they have, maybe family life and the hours we work did'nt work out because family should always come first. If you really want to see what goes on up here, ask to be TDY'ed for a week. Once again Props to "Hobby" and Billy Keltner for the work they've done, but don't get on here and bash people when you don't know all the facts. Better yet, why don't you support your Brothers and Sisters a little more and bash a little less.
