So does this mean there will not need to be 300 officers, a helicopter and roof top cameras next year? Or will we cater to the west end so they won't pull the race card again?? Those 300 officers could be better used patrolling the areas of the county stripped of the number of officers needed to adequately patrol. Or some could be allowed to be off so they too can join in the derby festivities, kind of like the over 60 officers that were allowed vacation during derby events while others were denied vacation days. Didn't an LMPD internal memo from the Chiefs office mandate NO vacation, personal, training or other of time during derby events?? Mayor ask your chief about this, want to improve morale?? End the favoritism and blatant racism being practiced daily from those in charge.

Can someone explain to me how our Chief can cancel EVERYONES off days for derby events and the grant Vacation days to over a hundred officers so they can work escort service for extra pay for these days. Some of the officers make over 2 grand for their time hauling people to the track. The way this is done is DIRTY and smells rotten to the core. I think the working officers should file a class action grievence against the dept to stop this crap. If your going to do this then offer it to all officers and use senority not how big a suck you are. Mutchler you need to look at the rundowns and just see how many vacation requests were granted and take care of this. I really think the FOP needs to see that things are done fairly and this is not one of them.
