It is determined by the average price of fuel that month as reported by AAA for the Louisville area.

At JCSO, It's 15 gallons per month for those who do not use the vehicle off duty, and 30 gallons for those that do. This does not change because gas prices go up or down. It has been that way since 2000, and no deputies complain. Free car, no insurance payments, free maintenance, unlimited useage. Why would they gripe.
