I understand that she was drunk and that she should not have evn been behind the wheel, but had a common citizen hit that girl there would be far worse repercussions for them. That man had a responsibilty to be the example and the image of the law and he did not uphold his end. Instead he was doing 80mph in a 45mph zone while off duty. Now in my book that should carry some kind of weight regardless of his "outstanding performance" on a day to day basis. Everyday "good" people are arrested, why is he special? Can someone give me a reasonable answer?

My two cents is that the situation is tragic. But, the situation is that a young woman was allowed to drink and drive. Whether it was Adams or someone else that came along, they had a drunk driver turn in front of them and an accident would have occured. Would it have been fatal at lower speeds? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on restraints, point of impact, reactions to force, etc. I am sure we have all seen fatal accidents at low speed impact. Is a 30 day no pay suspension too severe? Depends. Are these suspensions going to be handed out for all oficers caught speeding in department vehicles? Whether they are involved in accidents or not? Doubt it. If it is not across the board, it is discretionary/discriminatory/double standard. Of course, that is just my opinion.

You know as a citizen I have all the respect in the world for the police, but since I came to this website and read some of the comments about what happening in your department and what I see on the news, I realize that you all are a bunch of crybabies!!!! I have lost all respect for your department. You seem to want to blame everybody else except your self when something goes wrong. So I feel for the citizens of Louisville to know what kind of police department we have.
