From an older guy to a newer guy- youre on the right track. I dont think its right for more reasons than I have time to list, wrong in so many ways. They get away with it and say its OK not sending you the subpeona, but then turn right around and get the same results when you are subpeoned and dont show but want to punish you. Welcome to Jefferson County justice.

It is legal, but it would be nice for the FOP to keep track of such cases. And I'd be tempted to make sure the victim knew about that case, too - I have been a victim in a similar situation, and they weren't happen when I insisted on being heard. The judge wasn't happy to learn I had not been consulted about the disposition, either.

There may be a perfectly legitimate reason for the dismissals, but it does strike me as odd that so many cases are routinely dismissed and that investigations against influential people are not pursued. Like George Bush Jr. once said "There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again." The higher ups can only sweep so much dirt under the rug before people take notice.
