If a regular citizen punched you, I doubt if you would be as forgiving. People usually go to jail and even prison for assaulting the police in the middle of an arrest. The R.O.R. is obviously the first sign of the special treatment to come.

This is the backwards nonsense. You'll gripe about people still on the department like Hollingsworth, but when some real sh** goes down like this, your quick to call foul. You sound more like her personal cheerleader than you do any member of this "brotherhood" of which you speak. She should be embarrassed as should you for defending her position and even implying she should be "supported" with a group "standing behind" her. The arresting officer was no rookie with a tendency to get a squirrely h**d-on when given the chance to make an arrest. I'm sure if given the chance, he would have loved to avoid the whole scenario altogether, in fact, considering people like you were going to Monday morning quarterback. He's got what? More than ten years experience compared to her probationary period FAIL? Get over yourself. And tell your friend to get over herself, too.

Not only do I not agree with certain officers still being on this job I definitely don't agree with this "officer" keeping hers. Not only does she not have the personal restraint to know how to conduct herself in public, she assaulted a police officer that was effecting an arrest on her drunken sister that had been hurling out racist comments and then assaulting the officer as well. These two had every opportunity to leave but chose the path they took. This job gives us the power to take away peoples freedom and seizure of their property based on decisions we make, this "officer" obviously is not capable of making thought out decisions. And yeah it was thought out because they were given every chance to walk away and did'nt.

REALLY....She should keep her job after she turned on one of her own? Have you lost your mind? Who would want to work beside her? Who would trust her? NOT ME!!!

You must not know her too well or you would know she is a spoiled *****. This isn't the first or the last time she will be in trouble at a bar. The days of it being acceptable behavior for cops to drink hard and get in brawls are over.

Out of almost a hundred comments on this story you are the only one defending her. This tells me that you probably behave the same way and are trying to rally "the brotherhood" in her defense so that it will stand by you when its your turn to be in the spotlight. I hope you are retired because if not, I bet we will be seeing your name in the news as the next drunk cop causing problems for the department and embarrassing their family.

As the original poster insinuated, who among us hasn't done stupid things drunk or sober for that matter? There seem to be an awful lot of self-righteous people on this website. I doubt anyone on here is completely without a skeleton in a closet somewhere. Lord knows I probably didn't make the best of decisions when I was 24 either.

Big sisters tend to protect baby sisters their whole life, drunk or not. Who wouldn't have a hard time controlling the urge to intervene if they saw a couple of large men putting their hands on a loved one? With the tunnel vision of a whiskey drunk all she could see was her little sister struggling.

No doubt, she was wrong in her actions and her decisions. Unfortunately, her bad decisions escalated to being Mugshot of the Week.

But don't forget while you're bashing her, the other side of the coin is that she demonstrated loyalty to her family and the courage to step in. If given the chance, she'll think of her fellow officers as family too. There are other disciplinary options available; firing her is too harsh. She is undergoing the punishment of personal, public and professional humiliation and the combination will hopefully accelerate the maturing process.

Have been an officer for ten years and the police has never been called on me when i'm off duty. But, I did miss a traffic court case for no insurance and got suspended for a day...Love this place..just saying...
