Will his presence on the Metro Council make them any more inclined to question what the Administration tells them? We'll see. Last year the council approved the department budget without any changes. If they did that in any other city they would be called a rubber stamp, but here people are sheep just like the council has been. If the Council is going to be that passive then just shut it down and go back to having a 4-person Fiscal court. At least it would be a lot cheaper.

The first question he should ask the city is why does the Chief of Police get paid $163,069? That's 40% more than what Turner was making. Is there any other rank that is paid 40% than the one below it? Not in LMPD or any other department in existence. In these austere times, the Chief should give up some of that pay to help out the city just like the officers are being told to.

You forgot to mention the $200,000 bonus the Chief got for cutting the police over time budget by 2 mil. Just think of all the crime that could have been solved if detectives and beat officers had been allowed to use overtime.

And Chief White continues to wonder why officers go to the press instead of going through "proper department channels."

I think things would run smoother if we all just changed our legal names to "Queen". Then perhaps everyone would be able to get along. Too funny! And delusional!
