Hope for the best and expect the worst. You won't be as disappointed then. Whoever wins and whoever becomes Chief will still be a Louisville politician looking to promote based on loyalty more than competence or integrity, just like it's been since anyone still on the department started working. There have been good leaders on occasion who stand up for the troops, but they generally fall from grace and booted or else they start towing the line.
