Bardstown giving officer second chance at careerAcquitted in murder trial of shooting 19-year-old man |
COA is a coward.
COA, Remember that statement... when your life has been changed, and your entire world has been turned upside down, and the media has parked themselves everywhere. In fact remind us on line who you are and we can ensure that the media gives you that opportunity when a critical incident comes your way

RE: Bardstown giving officer second chance at career
Detective Mattingly is a hero to a lot of us because he performed a job that is very dangerous, kept his wits and did what had to be done in a no win situation. Then, when his chief turned his back on him, Detective Mattingly kept his cool, and displayed character and courage as the entire media machine in Louisville invaded every aspect of his life and intruded unmercifully upon him and his family. Never one to run from a confrontation, Detective Mattingly did his duty and testified, was acquitted and then fought for reinstatement and purging of records, all within the dictates and in accordance with law. Then, keeping his honor and dignity intact, resigned in protest of the outrageous treatment Chief White heaped upon him. Hero? You are absolutely correct. Do we honor and respect all life? Yes. Do we acknowledge that others on the streets that we protect honest citizens from do not respect life or have any honor? You are damn right! You need to adjust your attitude.
RE: Bardstown giving officer second chance at career
Mattingly defended himself and other officers and citizens from Michael Newby. Newby assaulted, robbed and attempted to murder Mattingly. He was armed with a .45 handgun. Newby was and still is a suspect in a number of assaults, robberies and homicides. Mattingly did the right but hard thing, and a liberal fish stick like you doesn't deserve to have a say about it.
Police officers, like our men and women who protect us in the military, are the only ones who should have a say. Sheep like you should stop bleating and be thankful men like Mattingly are still willing to protect you from the Michael Newby's of the world.
Next time you need help, call Criminal 2x. Fish stick.

RE: Bardstown giving officer second chance at career
You have obviously never been in the media, it sucks! They will lie and twist any story to make you look bad. And yes, you want to avoid speaking to them because they will even turn 'no comment' into a story! You should always avoid the media so you don't fuel their fire. Don't talk about something so strongly until you've been in that situation!
RE: Bardstown giving officer second chance at career
How dare you compare what you would do to that of Officer Mattingly. When you walk in his shoes you can comment at that time and it will be taken as a serious comment and not looked upon as it is posted from someone who knows nothing of this life. This Officer held his head up high during his ordeal and represented not only himself but the other officers who came before and after him. He has been hounded by the media for this event so maybe he is done explaining himself to them and people like yourself. He was found NOT GUILTY by a jury in a court of law. Why can't you and others give him the same treatment as others get once they are finished with court and have this outcome? Maybe you wanted to see him be in front of a camera so something he might say could be taken out of context, you know the 3 seconds out of a 90 second answer. He has stood against evil and has persevered. My question is could you?
