Sheriff's deputy shot several times during traffic stop

So glad he is OK.....we are thinking of him while here in DC and thankful he was wearing his vest!

Mmmmnn, just goes to show, guys, it is just as tough being a "small town" cop as it is in the big city. Glad you're OK, Deputy York.

Thank God he is alive and home with his family. I work with a couple of officers who never wear their vests. I cannot fathom the reasons they have given for not wearing them. They both have children and are married, have people that love them, and coworkers that will fight with and for them. I don't understand why they add that risk to their lives.

You guys do realize he was wearing a hand-me-down vest donated by a state trooper? Before we ship vests overseas, we should be making them available to our brothers and sisters in law enforcement right here?
