I thought only the Police were the problem at court??? Hummmm....imagine that.

I know there are many problems with court on all sides. One thing I have to point out is the judges who obviously dismiss good cases because they are friends with the defense. One particular judge ( heavy set with a beard ) dismissed a cut and dry DUI and then when asked why he didnt have an answer. I nearly cussed him but knew that would do no good. The defense attorney had a smirk on his face the whole time during the probable cause hearing. I kind of knew right then that I had no chance.

This has happened many times to me and I am sure everyone else could cite some cases too. Court will never be right until the Buddy System is long gone. Also...I agree that all most attorneys and prosecutors care about is their noon tee times! The police not showing up has been a problem. But we are the only ones that get bashed for it. Maybe we should Suspend some defense attorneys for showing up late. I wont hold my breath for that to happen though.

BP is right on. what do you think started the police/court issue? the defense attorneys ROUTINELY show up 2 to 3 hours late every freaking day. It is common knowledge that many attorneys use the strategy of 'waiting out the officer'. These unscrupulous schiesters wait til the officer gets annoyed enough to leave or must in order to sleep, and then goes to the conference room and does what ever they want b/c the officer isn't there to stop them. That's why many officers didn't bother to show on time. what's the point if you are just going to be waiting there for hours for no reason. Hold our feet to the fire, but God forbid anyone address the real problem: after all they are defense attorneys and judges. Worship them, lick their feet or some crap. give me a hole in my head. Buddy Buddy sys will not change. gotta go, i have to go arrest the same person for the 150th time - the revolving door at the jail is moving even faster these days thanks to liberal judges. (we do have a couple good ones, but they are few and far between). be safe .

Any know anything about the 3 individuals running in the Judicial Primary on the 18th? I believe they are Thenaman (current judge), Burke, and Firkins (?) No idea who I should be voting for.

Does anyone else have a hard time winning DUI cases when Paul Gold is the attourney or is it just me. I have had some air tight cases that were dissmissed in pc hearings. Since when is reckless driving not probable cause for a DUI stop.

We have prosecutors? What the heck are those? I thought we only had DISMISSERS, AND AMMENDERS !!!!!!!

Make sure you all get out and vote tomorrow. I obviously want you all to vote for my father Ray Patterson for Coroner but this is a very important primary. This is the first time in a long time that we have a Mayors race. Get out and vote. Every vote counts! Our immediate future is riding on this one.
