The parts of the report that are published commented on the fact that the head of the neighborhood dept. who resigned "created" 14 invoices so that the companies would be paid on time. Was service even rendered? Why did they do this for just a few companies? The report also mentions 23 million dollars unaccounted for.... Wasn't there an incident not too long ago where a certain mayor announced a 20 million dollar budget short fall and then refused to open the books? Oh and by the way for those who would say that we are just picking on a democrat remember that if he was a republican they would have already empaneled a federal grand jury. Oh and don't forget the housing authority scandle that started this all. It ain't over yet. Why did the mayor for life decide to run for state office.... the water was rising and he wanted to take the life boat for himself. The FOP needs to make sure that all accurate information known get sent out to the state lodges so they can see what they might face if he were to get into office.

Two men found themselves behind bars Monday, after Collier County deputies said they stole more than $2,400 of diesel fuel from Circle K in Immokalee.

Nicandro F. Morejon, 50, of the 4000 block of 40th Street N.E., Golden Gate Estates, and Reiner Gutierrez Quesada, 29, of the 1000 block of Dover Road, Delray Beach, were arrested by Collier deputies near the 100 block of South First Street in Immokalee.

Both were charged with grand theft $300 to $5,000.

According to Sheriff's reports, on Sunday the manager of Circle K, 1117 E. Main Street, contacted the Sheriff's Office to report that 841 gallons of diesel fuel had been stolen from the store Friday and Saturday.

The manager told deputies that when she reviewed the store's surveillance video she noticed that between 6:51 and 7:18 p.m. Friday, two semi-trucks pulled up at pump seven and eight at the station's pump. The trucks -- one red and one red with yellow -- switched positions before the driver of the red truck "completed" a transaction for $43.89 on pump seven.

When the manager returned Saturday and did inventory, reports said she realized that roughly 406 gallons of diesel fuel had been pilfered.

Surveillance video showed the two trucks at the pump on Saturday, and that the driver of the red and yellow truck "completed" a transaction for $49.11 that night. However, the video did not show the suspects' faces because they had left the trucks' doors open to block the view.

On Sunday morning, the manager told deputies she once again took inventory and found that another 435 gallons had been stolen.

Reports also said the manager told deputies that when she went to physically check on the pumps, she found that the front of pump eight had been propped open and that the electronics were tampered with.

Collier deputies spotted the trucks heading south on S.R. 29 on Monday and noticed that the red truck had a square plastic container with an open valve on its bottom rear end, reports said.

After conducting the traffic stop, reports said a records check revealed that neither semi-truck had a Florida registration tag. A search of the red truck, driven by Morejon found several hand tools on the passenger side floor.

Both men were taken into custody.

Interestingly enough if there were someplace that kept track of every faux pas and blunder that Abramson and his cronies have made throughout Louisville's 20 year plus sentence of his dictatorial reign there would probably be enough to write a book about corruption on a scale Chicago and other cities were subjected to because the same crook kept getting elected.

And some people want to see him in a higher office? They must be the same types that think Nancy Pelosi is so all knowing.

We are talking some serious allegations that keep cropping up and have continued to crop up. Why in god's name is he still here? Why hasn't anyone indicted him for some of this stuff yet?

Once again after a brief mention of it on the news and in the paper the story simply goes away. This is just more evidence that Abramson is controlling them or they are in bed with him in some way. Why wouldn't one of the biggest corruption scandals to hit the State be reported and stay on the news otherwise? Think about it. Abramnson has been caught red-handed time and time again. We have seen many of his personally appointed department heads exposed as either being corrupt, inept and/or both. Yet the media still bows as he walks past and giggle and ask for autographs like he is some kind of local rock star.

Once he is gone their idol will no longer be there so they want to create their own new icon (David Tandy). They want someone they can control and some one that is malleable. The media definitely doesn't want someone that will tell them to go pound sand or who will tell them, God forbid, the truth because that would send their ratings plummeting.

Face it, our local media has become more and more National Enquirer like each and every day. They are not interested in the truth. They are only interested in a flashy headline.

Not that this means anything but..........did anyone notice a familiar name on the arena commision? Little William Summers.......you know the one who was written about for being hired by city government, for a job that didn't exist just because his dad is deputy mayor. Well apparently he MUST be qualified for this new job! Is this the same guy? Inquiring Minds want to know.

I may just be a worry-wort, but I wonder about the brain cancer risk involved in these new radios. The mandatory hand mikes put the transmitting antenna right beside your head. I know we already use our handhelds near our head but the antenna is pointed away, and we only used them part-time, outside of the car. Does anybody know anything about wattage output of these new radios, and risk factors? I don't know much about radio propagation, but I have some reservations about having the antenna inches from my head, for 20+ years. I don't see why we can't have hand-mikes with antenna on the radio and not the mike.
