It would be shorter of LMPD would actually accept the JCSO deputies, who are all fully certified Kentucky officers, as true laterals. I know several that would love to work for LMPD, but are unwilling to go back through a full basic - nor should they have to do so. (Imagine how insulted LMPD retirees would be if they were required to go back through basic training to be a deputy?)
