Fired prosecutor sues former boss

I've known Glenda Bradshaw for almost fifteen years. I've dealt with her as an officer, detective, sergeant and lieuteant. She is as tough on the police as she is on defense attorneys. She was very demanding of the prosecutors who worked for her. Her compassion was always reserved for crime victims. I didn't always agree with her and she pissed me off on several occasions. But she was good at her job and fair to everyone. It appears that Glenda didn't like the illegal activities of her new boss. It's too bad some of the majors and lieuteant colonels at LMPD won't stand up like she did. Oh wait, one major did. Now he's a lieutenant.

Mr. O'Conner needs to be investigated by the Attorney General. We all know that Democrats never indict other Democrats, but there could always be a first time. The Communist Journal won't investigate Mr. O'Connor since he has joined in on their War on the Police.

The different FOP's in Jefferson County need to take a hard look and consider backing Ms. Bradshaw in the Democratic primary. Mr. O'Conner, even with the cool Irish name, is not a friend of law enforcement. It's time for the misguided Mick to say Adios. Maybe Ms. Bradshaw would stop backing the Mayor when he wants legal representation to violate the Metro Police FOP contract. Maybe the Hall of Justice would finally be someplace where one could get justice.

Register to vote, support FOP canidates, contribute, campaign, taste victory!

Out here!

Here are the issues I have with the County Attorney fiasco. First off the job of the County Attorney is to prosecute criminals. It is important that the police show up for court. He jumpd on the CJ bandwagon for the publicity yet aside from a handful of cases the department has already proven that the CJ reporter padded the numbers heavily and included fabricated statistics.

The problems were identified and a new series of checks and balances were set in place by LMPD. One of the worst problems were officers being subpoenaed to court on first call for stupid things like "expired tags", "no insurance" and "operating on a suspended license." In all of those type cases the citation spoke for itself. He either had it or he didn't yet we were still getting supoenaed. I for one work midwatch and sometime it is a pain to drag my but out of bed in the middle of my night to go to court. I am sure I rolled back over on one or two of the above mentioned cases.

Now that the new system is in place tax dollars or officers time are no longer being wasted by sleazy defense attorneys demanding we be there and getting cases dismissed when we are not. If they want a trial on the above mentioned style cases they have to schedule one not throw a tantrum and demand one for that day.

All that having been said the system does not need Mike O'Connell and company keeping yet another set of books. Prosecutors should prosecute. If Officers don't show up for court they contact the court liason Sergeant and he handles it. O'connell simply wanted to campaign saying " I STOPPED POLICE NOT SHOWING UP FOR COURT" blah...blah...blah... He is a political hack who was appointed to the job. Playing the political game was always more important than prosecuting criminals.

The whole deal with this is that YES Mr. O'Connell whether you believe it or not the amount of absences have decreased significantly since this started for many reasons and you need to handle your job with a little more tact and concentrate on things like prosecuting cases and defending against frivolous suits rather than twisting arms for contributions and bad mouthing ypu employees. Forcing your employees to give to your campaign or "strongly encouraging" is a wrong on every level.

You are an embarrassment that could not come anywhere close to filling the shoes of Irve Maize. I liked the part where you insinuated that Glenda planned this and within 24 hours had an attorney, announced she would fight this and even run against you. That sir is what a professional is capable of. She did not have to sit back and form a committee as liberals like yourself are fond of doing. She saw the problem and took decisive action. Way to go Glenda! You would have made and excellent Police Officer.

Louisville's voters won't normally elect you unless you're some kind of crook.

Maybe Mr O'Connell should investigate the enormous number of cases that are needlessly dismissed or amended by his office. Cases that are strong and should be prosecuted, yet to many in his office are lazy or want to play nice to defense attorneys so they can leave his office and get a job in the private sector. Now the enormous number is growing as Officers are not there to fight for justice and the prosecutors can dismiss and amend away. The Jefferson County Attorneys Office is a joke and every criminal that has been through court in Jefferson County knows it. Go ahead O'Connell run for election, it will be nice to see the truth about the joke you are in charge of come out.
