Riggs selected for Texas police chief post

It's no shock to anyone that she is the new LTC. In all perspective what a better candidate, atleast for the media and the public. As far as the other thing, is she the best qualified candidate for the position, I would think not. It takes alot more than who you know to know what you are doing, and with that said I am sure their are several other LT's and Majors with exceptional records, tenure, and the most important experience to be sitting in her seat. But dare any of them to question it, for if they are white they will be considered racist and eventually sent to the property room till they retire. Now I'm not saying that she would never be a good candidate for the position. But lets be resonable and look at time of service, especially in leadership positions, I mean she went from Sgt to LTC, 0-60 in 15 seconds.

Hopefully the Chief knows what he is doing, and I'm sure there is some sort of plan in action for her after his departure, but Ma'am be careful of what you do, because your inexperience could have tramatic effects on not only you, but the supposed 2500 officers that work hard fighting crime everyday. And their is that slight, slight possibility that the chiefs plan of action for you will not fall through and you will see yourself back as a LT (hopefully one that has to finish their probation) and all those people that you screwed for your own self rightousness will remember.

But again congrats on the promotion and remember one thing if any "you are there for the troops, and if you are the troops will take care of the community."

One positive thing did come from this promotion, Lt. Pitcock will be taking over the 2nd Division. I'm sure the CO's in the second will realize real quick "THE GRAVY TRAIN IS OVER"
