I was the poster that compared the "trucker mentality" and yes you stated "the officers in the east end", reread your post.

But you say that is not exactly what you meant, OK fair enough. BUT your posts plainly put east end officers in one catagory and that is why I put it like I did.

You are offended?, well you insulted them also by saying "the officers in the east end compared to other parts of the city"

I merely made an observation on your posts.

Do you work at the Thortons? How else would you know they stay there for hours without leaving.

Officers mostly just conform to the expectation of their supervisors and their fellow officers. Those expectations have really changed over the past few decades. Pro-active police are punished at every turn and labelled as squirrels. The politicking house mice have been rewarded and have been promoted up through the ranks. The others learn that it's better to do nothing so you can do more off duty work. You can't blame any single person on the department for this. It's really taken a team effort to screw the department up this bad.

The reason why officers go on the defensive is because as you say there are lazy people in every job, and there are people that make mistakes in every job. However, when was the last time that a lazy computer programmer was placed in the paper in an article because he was lazy and wasting time. When was the last time you called arby's and complained because the worker was wasting time. Exactly, people complain on cops because they don't like getting tickets. the plain and simple is that honest, law obiding citizens LOVE cops. Because they don't see the bad side. If it wasn't for us there would be chaos! So instead of insulting us when one of our own was SHOT, maybe you could just say thanks or SHUT UP.
