jerry announced his "community conversations" dates for 2009. I think each union should take a date and appear at these events to educate the public on how jerry does his business. Paul has hit it on the spot with everyone waiting for someone else to take the steps needed and look into things. It is time for us to step up and do more. We are beating him in court, so far, but that can change at any time. If we keep the presure on him and his pupets in the front office maybe we can make a difference in our own future here. Whats the worse that can happen? He gets mad at us (again) and we have another fight on our hands? He tells his pupet chief to slap our hands by taking something else away? We all should be used to his childish fits when he doesn't get his way.

You are so right. It is a shame that we have settled for mediocrity for years with Abramson. We all accepted his glib pranouncements and propaganda, but nobody wanted to do anything about it.

I for one believe we can do better. I think Abramson painted himself in a corner and now he has to stand by his lies about how bad the economy is. He still hasn't put up or shut up. Nobody has any idea about what is really happening with the books because we have been handed the online crap only.

There is no doubt like our brother from Corrections said: "The accountants are looking over the books, but the simple truth is that he has not provided everything like was requested/"

I also think Abramson thinks he is untouchable. I think he has said it enough that he believes it. I think he truly thinks he believes that he is in charge of everything and that he can do whatever he wants to do without fear of retribution.

I have a question-- and please don't knock me for not knowing.. but the years he has been in office are all beginning to run together like one big blur to me. I know there is a limit to which he can run/be in office. What is the maximum possible amount of time we could be stuck with him? 2012? I'm just so discouraged and the thought of even 2 more years with him is disheartening.

I'm a non-police citizen saying this by the way. I want you guys to know there are some of us out here that see through all of this and what you guys are saying certainly isn't falling on deaf ears. I've never been a fan of him anyway, but what you guys are doing is admirable and also necessary.

We can never let up on him or his administration now or we will look like all bark and no bite. We have to stay on him for the next hear and a half until the next elections and make sure this is the last time he is allowed to be mayor of his "little toy city" so he can do as he pleases. This has to be his last term, and he needs to go down in flames and not remembered as someone who did so much for the city. He has ruined this city financially and all he really cared about was downtown. What has he done for the suburbs except stop cutting the grass in the parks because he spent all the money on downtown projects and giving his buddies deals. He absolutley, positively HAS to go, asap.

Has anybody heard about the Chief requesting the Fire Dept. supervisors to report if we are wearing our traffic vests or not? I was talking to a couple firefighters that stated they had heard that but they weren't sure if it was rumor or not.

OUTSTANDING ! supreme allied commander-Schweizer

Your ability to convey our feelings, remaining tactfully respectfull to all, while clearly stating facts is to be commended. 'Waiting for the other shoe to drop' hits the nail on the head. I feel it will get worse, probably quite a bit worse, before it gets better. I think we have all had enough and will stick together - all of public safety. I also think that in long run we will prevail. It may take time. It may take a new mayor. It may take a new chief. More than likely it will take all three. We all do these jobs (police, fire, ems, dispatch for all) because we care about the community and folks that need help - whatever the reason. I, personally, do this job for three reasons: help those that cannot help themselves, protect those that cannot protect themselves, and hunt down and stop criminals before they have a chance to hurt someone else. We keep doing our jobs, no matter how bad it gets, because we have deep convictions and beliefs. These convictions and beliefs will continue to unite us and see us through to the end. If we don't give up on the people, they won't give up on us. thank you all, for all that you do........................

I recently heard that a couple of weeks ago the Great One held a press conference to let the world know what a magnamimous guy he was. It seems the Home of the Innocents, one of Louisville's Crown Jewells when it comes to caring for needy children was to receive about 5 million from Metro Governement to continue expansion and develope a greater range of services. Jerry held a press conference and within a couple of hours after it aired he called the HOTI personnel and told them that he won't be giving them the entire amount after all. In fact he shaved about 4.7 million off of the total. Like the Center City propossal, he knew ahead of time what he was doing held his lillte "Hey look at me", "See what a gret guy I am" press conference and then hit them with the bad news.

HOTI has expanded greatly over the past decade. They employ 400 people and the new expansion would have brought 200 more jobs to the downtoen area. Now they may have to lay some people off. Is it because Jerry wasn't getting a kick back? I thought the whole big deal was about bringing new jobs to Louisville and here he has been cought eliminating them instead! Is it because they are not Cordish approved jobs?

I would like to know the answers to these and other questions, like "Why has this fool not been impeached yet?"

I have heard for years that the media in this town are here because they cannot make it in a big time market. I would say that the proof is in the pudding because with all of the info on this site not one media outlet has run with anything and stayed with it long enough to make a difference. We all know that the CJ is a liberal rag and backs Jerry 100%............and Jerry takes care of issues surrounding Harrods Creek / River Road / East Bridge etc., do you know that the editor of the CJ Forum is a fellow named Runyon whose wife happens to be the head of a conservation group with deep interest in Harrods Creek / River Road / and the East end bridge. I guess that is just another strange coincidence?

Media do you know that Public works has had to pay Overtime to cover furlough days? So has EMS. And Metrosafe had their budget cut $500,000 and like everyone else had a hiring freeze......last week they were approved to hire 12 with a combined starting salary of $437,000. I we are saving money , how?

"With the economic challenges we all face," Abramson said, "it's more important than ever that residents can connect with the services and information they need from city government."

Community Conversations start at 6:30 p.m.

The schedule:

Jan. 26: Westport Middle School gym, 8100 Westport Road.

Feb. 16: Moore High School theater room, 6415 Outer Loop.

March 16: Iroquois High School gym, 4615 Taylor Blvd.

April 20: Stuart Middle School gym, 4601 Valley Station Road.

May 18: Newburg Middle School gym, 4901 Exeter Ave.

June 15: Ramsey Middle School gym, 6409 Gellhaus Lane.

July 20: Carter , 3600 Bohne Ave.

Aug. 17: Fairdale High School small gym, 1001 Fairdale Road.

Sept. 21: Atherton High School small gym, 3000 Dundee Road.

Oct. 19: Southern High School large gym, 8620 Preston Highway.

Nov. 16: Central High School large gym, 1130 W. Chestnut St.

No meeting is scheduled for December.

Heres the schedule for the Mayor Town Meetings. We should all (all city employees) try to come out to all of them in masses. I know I will try to make as many as I can. Two kids takes up a lot of free time. We need to have a list of questions to pass out so ALL questions might be asked. Whether they get answered will be another thing. He turned off the Mic @ PRP High School and everyone had to write their questions down and hope they got answered. We will see I guess.

In case you missed it this just hit the Wave 3 news at 5. I am at a loss for words so I will let the article speak for itself.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Kentucky Court of Appeals have vacated a judge's order that prevented Louisville Metro government from charging police officers higher cost for use of police cars while off duty.

In its ruling, the Court of Appeals said that Judge Mitch Perry "abused its discretion in entering the temporary injunction." The Appeals Court went on to say that River City FOP Lodge 614 "failed to establish the requisite of irreparable injury."

Metro government wants to raise the fees for take home cars from $30 and $60 a month to $100 and $160 a month. The higher fees are charged to officers who use the police vehicle for off-duty work.

What a great day this turned out to be!
