Abramson's lordly ways

Ive never been in a store that got robbed either, and I dont drive a police car. That is just the odds.

As to your request for a perk, you have many. You have the option of cash overtime, road watch you get paid to sleep in your cars for a few hours. You get free coffee/cokes/doughnuts/food from restaurants and gas stations.

The problem is that it seems no perks will ever be enough. It comes down to the original complaint about immunity from laws being a perk. Having lobbying organizations create difficult complaint processes through laws, shouldnt be a perk.

I am sure you probably do commit crime from happening, but at what cost? I am glad you areproud of your job, Im cetainly prouod of the work I do, as should anyone who works alegitimate job and fulfills their obligations to society to be a contributing member of it.

As tothe stopping and helping stranded motorists, and answering questions, you dont need a car to do that. Ive stopped and helped motorists before, less nowadays cause so many people have cellphones, but if I see something that I can help with, i will stop if possible. It isnt always feasible with a truck, but patrol cars and personal vehicles are the same thing, just without lights. As to the robberies and other calls, I admittedly do not know how other cities do it, but they do.

My job provides me perks, I have access to construction equipment should i need a backhoe or something to do some landscaping. I have a large truck if I were to need to haul a car or something somewhere. Its all within the confines of the law.

My problem is that I have no idea what is good enough, when enough will ever be enough. None of my questions have ever been answered, or my accusations legitimately denied.

The common opinion seems to be "so what" if cops speed. Where does it stop? what is the line of laws that are ok to break? These are legitimate questions that cannot be answered, otherwise they would have.

I have readily given my support to you, as police officers. I defended you publicly in the CJ through editorials when you were accused of being "thugs with badges", against that sham Louis Coleman and his junior, the idiot with a number in his name, christopher extra large.

Take a moment and read my posts, especially the above thread that i started. Look at the response that it has garnered. Look at my individual posts and see the depth of my arguments. Look at the research and sources that go into my posts. Yes, i can sling mud with the best of em, but basically, and i think ive shown it here, I give competent, rational, civilized discussions.

I understand you side, and contrary to the accusations, maybe I couldnt do your job. It wouldnt be the reasons given, the courage, or whatever crap ive been labeled with, it wold be the one thing your job requires in quantity more than most others, and that is patience. The one thing that HASNT been listed as a needed trait for the job.

Im not an anarchist, I dont support criminals, and im certainly not anti-cop. Im anti-abuse. You can claim its exaggerrating, but you (cops) giving me a ticket that you know positively you are immune to is nothing more than class levels within society. many of you have been vocal about it, that is isnt so much society vs criminals, with you being part of society, its more about cops vs everyone else. The expression has been "were the police, and you are not".

What kind of message does that send? How loudly does that resonate with you? Is your (in general) hatred of my opinions great that you are willing to overlook your own tarnishing your image because it is aimed at me?

Excluding your serious offenses, reckless driving, etc, ask yourself the next time you give a ticket, would it be ok for YOU as a cop to be doing whatever it is you are writing the ticket for. What if the person you are writing a ticket to were to flash a badge? Would that excuse them from whatever it is that you were writing the ticket for in the first place? Are those REALLY questions that are out of line?

They must be, because taking that line of reasoning all the way to Col Turners office has netted me ZERO answers.

If any of this came across as accusatory, it wasnt meant to be, its just the way I speak.
