Free at Last...Free at Last.
Slavery has ended.
No longer a slave to my car.
The fact that he will continue to divide us by allowing some officers to keep cars, and not others while handing down threats is one more way to drive the wedge. And with nowhere to park, how can we go to court. Not that I will have any reason to go...that would require a lock up. Don't let us fail.
Good work. It won't be long now...

RE: Police Officers given new list of ultimatums
I agree that enough is enough. The Mayor and the Chief have made it clear that they could not care less about the men and women of the Police Department. I would like to have seen somebody in the Command Staff, all the way down to the Majors that run each Division, step up and support the Police Officers. I know that you want to keep your rank, but you also have to live with yourself. At one time, all of you were Police Officers! The "tick marks" need to come to a complete stop. When nobody is going to jail, the courts are empty, and the lawyers have no business maybe then somebody will realize just how big of a mistake they made, This department is quickly approaching the point of no return.

I?m also noticing a small amount of officers starting to second guess their choices simply because they have become dependent on the take home car. We all can acknowledge a number of reasons they are in those positions, family, bills, inexperienced, etc, there are a myriad of them, none of which anyone needs scrutinized for. We all need to address these issues and start focusing on these individuals and find them a vehicle.
What we have are:
-The LMPD credit union is offering a very nice 4.9 % on auto loans which will come straight out of their pay checks.
- We also have a number of us who have direct links into the auto business.
What we don't have is:
- A central location for these individuals to find and locate vehicles, inquire about loans, payments etc. or additional assistance to overcome this problem we are all facing.
Our F.O.P. can easily facilitate a central location for our members to meet, gather information and assistance and make this transition a little less painless on everyone involved.
Lastly, We all need to remind ourselves these are not our personal cars and having a plan ?B? is always a must in our business, especially with this administration.
