You have to make a decision based on what's best for you and yours. I do not buy into the "sacrifice of the few for the good of the many" philosophy. The so called "many" don't pay your mortgage or your car payment. Your kids don't open presents on Christmas morning from the "many." You do what you have to in order to provide.
