My father is a police officer who has been in two officer involved shootings, two accidents chasings felony suspects, numerous fights where he came home looking he went several rounds with Mike Tyson and not to mention saved many lives in the line of duty. If he and the rest of these officers want to drive 75 mph down the Hwy I think they have earned the right. Being a police officer is a thankless job that earns low pay and crappy hours.
