Don't forget John McGuire went to the council meeting and gave them the first exposure to all of this. Without it they would have not had a clue as to what was going on when Paul wrote his story and started getting people to call their council members. It was a combination of timing and initiative which ultimately caused this to be seriously looked at.

BTW when John put out his e-mail about the meeting there were a few Officers that showed up to support our side. I hope he has finally gotten comfotable in sending e-mails and information out regarding pertinent issues.

When will you all wake up????

I know news agencies read this, citizens of Louisville Metro and most importantly police officers. While I'm not an officer I do support police officers (not the department) 100%. To the news agencies, are you scared of the Mayor? I've never seen a group of news "reporters" not expose someone so high up. You are willing to do it to the Gov., H of R and senators, but why not the mayor? I believe this city has a right and needs to know how crappy of a job he is doing. He is throwing away money that he doesn't have. Completely disrespects his public safety employees. If the Gov or someone in congress were doing these things it would be your top story. And too the citizens, who is voting for this guy? It seems like everyone I talk to hates the mayor, but yet he keeps getting voted in. It almost reminds me of the the Chicago elections when people who have been dead for years were voting. The mayor has not improved the living standards in this city since he became Metro Mayor, matter of fact he has lowered them and lied about it to you all time and time again.

And to the police officers. Most citizens respect what you all do and we thank you. It's a job that most people couldn't handle. A job where every choice you make could lead to some form of discipline and a job that you are vastly underpaid for. But as someone who is high up in a union I am telling you, the only way you are going to be able to get the ball back to half court is to follow your policy and procedures. If it's a two car run, use two cars. If the city wants stats, don't give them any. The union needs the support of it's members. In every union you are going to have company men, you are going to have people who ******** about the union but aren't company men, people who are going to ******** about the union, but not do anything to change it and the ones who stick by the union and who are active. It's not going to be an easy fix, but if the majority of officers stick together things can be done. Good luck and God's Speed

I agree...Paul deserves a big pat on the back for exposing this story. I hope everyone takes up a collection for him when the mayor tries to find some lame excuse to discipline him :) :)

Ok, I can see in peoplesoft that it is now set to reflect my new rate that should have started 3 months ago. How long should I plan on waiting for the new rate that starts at the end of this month to show up? Remember we are due two separate raises, one that backdates to July 1, 2007 and one that starts July 1, 2008.

According to my calculations the city has been sitting on 1.9 million dollars for about 3 months. How much interest has Abramson collected while we went without anything? Can the Council's Oversight Committee look into that?

Good Job voting for the contract! Just today a Councilmember said "...you should never have accepted that (contract). WE ALL think you deserve 3.8 EACH year, and would have worked to get it for you."

Way to go guys! You make Jerry so proud!

The F.O.P.

They got you guys again and now they make it look like they are working hard for you, you got to be kidding.where have they been for three months. They sure wasn't in frankfort lobbying to save your pension benifits you all need someday.

What does it take.....

What does it take for the city to support and back law enforcement? As the wife and daughter of an officer i know that you all have been treated like the red-headed step child of the city. Without you our city would be unsafe and in total disarray. I am completely outraged at the lack of support our mayor has for public safety employees. I pray to God every day to bring my husband home safely. You all deserve a standing ovation, pat on the back, a salute, and you more than deserve a raise. I want you all to know that i appreciate what you do for our community. Each day your lives are on the line so we can live ours. God speed. Blessed be the peacemakers.
