You know, I was trained by some pretty good old coppers that taught me that riding a beat wasn' about writting tickets. They would tell me if you want to write tickets...go to traffic. They told me that riding a beat meant you knew who the dirtbags were on your beat, you knew where the probems were likely to occur and you road the alleys because thats where the rats like to creep.
