St. Matthews dispatch failed after storm

February 2nd, 2008 @ 10:43AM (16 years ago)

Interesting given that MetroSafe could have just bridged St. Matthews police channel with Urban channel 2 and dispatched St. Matthews officers on calls as they came into the CAD system. Not that hard fellas, takes about 10 seconds. Or, MetroSafe could have just assigned a detail dispatcher to work St. Matthews channel from MetroSafe's MotoBridge console....or St. Matthews could have sent their dispatcher to MetroSafe to dispatch from there....transferring calls to cell phones is archaic at this point.

Is there any hope of the smaller governments and metro putting aside the politics and unifying under one common dispatch system? I'm sure it's just wishful thinking, but for all police, fire and EMS units it would probably be more cost-effective and convenient.

Again, probably just wishful thinking.

Sounds like your typical response from one of those, been there, done that, retired LPD people who are in the way. Why isn't there regular checks done on the generator chief, then you wouldn't have to give that stupid response you thought we would all believe. Please................. But hey, I'm retired, we don't do those sort of things, because it never happened in 1970. Retire................
