As slayings of cops rise, a new brutality surfaces

We have had in the neighborhood of 8-9 officer involved shootings in the past 12 months. Something to keep in mind. There are people out there that will kill you if given the chance. Don't be scared to pull the trigger if you have to. Easier to be judged by 12 than carried by six.

What really annoys me about this whole thing, is the fact that the IACP is yelling for another ban on assault weapons. Unless Im missing something, the weapon used was a shotgun.

There is definatily a lack of respect for law enforcement officers everywhere. Nowadays even young kids don't even respect police officers, I have more problems with teens and pre-teens from the East End mouthing off to me than adults from the West End. It is a shame that parents these days are not raising their children the right way. If any of my kids ever mouthed off to a police officer their punishment would be ten times worse than anything the officer could have done to them. Its time to get rid of all these left wing liberal ways of policeing and go back to how it was in the old days. If someone smarted off to you back then you would smack them upside the head and put them in their place. By doing this they know who is in charge of the situation. These days I have to put up with some scumbag calling me every name in the book, and call him sir on top of that. It's because of whinning ******** LIBERALS that we have to take all this crap from these scumbags. You never saw this lack of respect for the badge back in the days.

I haven't been back home to Kentucky in some time, so I'm a little out of touch with the judicial system there. I can say that as a officer in Albuquerque New Mexico, gun control is not the answer. We all know if knuckle head wants a gun, he or she will get one. The trend that i see here is a lack of respect starting with the courts. The DA's office will not prosecute assault or battery cases on a officer unless substantial injury is suffered by the officer. Basically the courts are saying its okay to lay hands on, spit on, or take a swing at an officer. Take a look at your courts there. Please don't let it get that bad there!
