This officer's sentence is hogwash

This is the epitome of what is happening throughout the country with the "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" mentality of judges and attorneys. It is disgusting, whether it involves a police officer or a civilian. Voters in that region should rise up and take a stand, not necesarily waiting for the next election, but letting their voices be heard immediately! I'll be praying for this officer and I hope others will as well!

I am in shock! What is wrong with this country. A man gets 5 years prison for protecting hiself. And you wonder why police are affaid to do their job. My heart is with this officer.

This is a prime example of when an officer needs to file a lawsuit against the rich daddy and his son and his son's friends. They may just get a jury that sees this for what it is....typical crap.

I am a 26 year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, this story is more shocking then all the horrific things I have experienced during all my years on the force. A Police Officer' worst nightmere is to be sent into confinement with the likes of those you swore to incarcerate. There is no doubt in my mind that there was a "motion to fix" with the Judge and the prosecutor in on the deal. Unfortunatly it's not as uncommon as some of us might think. It is a sad day for the State of Iowa.........
