Two Floyd County Sheriff's Deputies ambushed, 1 killed by juvenile with high-powered rifle

my thoughts and prayers are with the floyd county sheriffs deputies and their families. my husband is getting ready to put on his uniform to leave for work with the jefferson county sheriffs department. i pray for his safe return every night he leaves to go to work. thank you to all men and women who serve and protect our community.

Both of these officers are good men with families with small children. Please pray for them...

Brothers we are praying for your families, there are no words to express our deepest regret of the loss of a family member. As Officers we should learn from this tragedy and the other tragedies around the U.S. and take more caution even when responding to "routine" calls. Lets all be safe.

Their is no greater glory than to give your life for your friends, neighbors and your country. This Officer will be dearly missed but he will live on in the Officers he has so valiantly served beside.

I was out patrollling my beat last night when I heard the news. I pulled over into a school parking lot and said a prayer for you. I didn't know you personally, but I knew you. We are the same. We risk our lives everyday going to runs to make/keep our communities safe. We never know who will answer the door, what will happen and if we have trained hard enough to live through it.

Peter Grignon and now Frank Denzinger died at the hands of kids that should have beeing playing baseball not with guns. I am saddend by the loss of another Brother and of the serious injury to Joel.

St, Michael watch over my Brothers and Sisters tonight as we go to work once again reminded of just how dangerous this job is.

I'm currently in Washington DC. I went to the National Law Enforcement Memorial on Sunday and scratched over Peter's name and several others. Our thoughts and prayers goes out to the families and officers in Floyd Co. Indiana. Peace be with you Officer Denzinger.

"Last week Chief Randy Lacy was killed?shot from the back seat of his cruiser.

Two more officers were shot this week. Deputy Frank Denzinger died hours after being shot on Monday and Deputy Joel White was hospitalized in critical condition.

This goes to show us once again how important their job is for all of us. There are plenty of just plain nasty people out there. Lots of sick and deranged people too. When one of these psychopaths rears their ugly head, we need people who will rush to our defense, who will fight their human instincts and go toward the danger. I am grateful for people like that.

Many times I am accused of automatically siding with the police when someone accuses them of wrongdoing, or of using excessive force. My position is this: the police get the benefit of the doubt from me unless it can be clearly shown that they acted inappropriately. And it almost always turns out that an individual was shot or hurt because of their own actions, not because the police over reacted.

At a time of tragedy like this, I would ask you to show your support for the police. Don?t wait for another horrible event to let them know you appreciate their willingness to rush toward danger to get you out of it.

I am not a peace officer but I have served in two other positions that can require the same sacrifice to be made. I spent 18 years in the US Military and serverd two years as a Volunteer Firefighter in Jefferson County, KY. My heart goes out to the families of both of these fine men who served my county so well. Rest in Peace Officer Denzinger and may God grant your family strength to get through this ordeal. To Officer White I hope that God will heal you of your physical wounds and give you peace from your emotional ones. To all men who put on that uniform everyday and go to work to protect and serve their communities you have my upmost respect and admiration for the job that you do.
