Interesting take on the first one, I've heard a completely different story from LMPD officers at the scene.

First of all, the Corrections officers did NOT allow her to get back into the car, she pulled away from the officers and before they could regain control of her, she jumped back into the car and drove off at a high rate of speed. You should get all of the facts straight before becoming a Monday morning quarterback. This could have happened to anyone-LMPD included. Don't belittle officers on other departments. We are all on the same team-LMPD has it's problems and has officers that make even bigger mistakes.

By the way, most of the Police officers on the street now started out as corrections officers. You probably have one that you work with everyday.

As far as Corrections Officers assaulting an off duty officer at the gas station here is the real story.... You ask how do I know the real story? It was ME the corrections officer that was involved.

Unknown subject comes staggering across the lot I approach him and ask him if he is O.K. he replies F@#K YOU jail guard. I request this subjects ID as he continues to walk toward the front of the store and he ignores my request. I again request his ID and still he ignores me. He approached my partner and continued to use profane language toward him and I request his ID once again. He then replies F@#K YOU jail guards you all ain't ********. I requested that this subject leave the premises and he refused by walking toward the front door and telling me he will go wherever he wants cause I do not know him. I then took control of this subject and placed him against the wall while asking him for his ID another three time. The only response I got from him at this time is "IF YOU DO NOT LET GO OF ME I AM GOING TO F@#K YOU UP" he then turned away from the wall and swung his left hand out toward my weapon so he was controlled and taken to the ground. Inadvertantly his head Striking the concrete but If he would have just said that he was a cop or showed his ID or Badge it would have been a different outcome.

MY ADVICE TO YOU AND ALL WHO READ THIS IS IF AN OFFICER ASK YOU FOR YOUR ID (NO MATTER IF HE IS A CORRECTIONS OFFICER, LMPD OFFICER, DEPUTY) IDENTIFY YOUR SELF. THAT IS ALL I WAS ASKING FOR . I WAS NOT BEING BELIGERANT OR OVERDEMANDING TOWARD THIS INDIVIDUAL, I WAS JUST DOING WHAT I WAS HIRED TO DO BY THE LMPD DETECTIVE THAT RUNS THE OFF DUTY AT THE SHELL AND THAT WAS KEEPING THE DRUNK AND DISORDERLY PATRONS OF THE O'MALLY'S CORNER FROM COMING ON THE LOT AND CAUSING PROBLEMS. This officer was being one of the very ones that we all hate to encounter as officers, DRUNK, DISORDERLY, BELIGERANT, AND THREATENING TO OFFICERS.
