LMPD releases body cam footage after suspect shot by police near Breckenridge Lane |
RE: LMPD releases body cam footage after suspect shot by police...
Both Republicans say they want to give deputies raises but aren't clear about where the money will come from. They already operate on a shoestring budget so not sure how better management of resources will fix that problem.
The easiest way to raise some money is to start doing enforcement activities that will lead to salary reimbursement from the feds or seizures of drug money, cars, houses, etc. they can use for department expenses. They should also ask the state legislature to raise the fees that can be charged under KRS 64.090. They are all ridiculously low. $2 for serving a notice, $3 for serving a court order, $30 for an arrest. All those on the Metro Council who've complained about LMPD not having enough officers could be sending some money to JCSO to do what Conrad won't do. Aubrey's obviously not interested but 1 of these 2 guys could take that opportunity.
