It's a bad sign that LMPD has a hard time just keeping Tier 1 employees who have cadillac pension benefits compared to newer people. The Tier 2 people will mostly want to stay 25 years to get the full 2.5% retirement factor.
The bottom will fall out with Tier 3. There's no real pension there. They could just as easily save the same amounts of money in much easier and safer jobs. Retention of people willing to actually work every day will be near impossible. Everyone will be looking for a way out or off the street. Those left behind will primarily be trying to survive to old age without getting hurt.
This is the best its ever going to be in Louisville. We'll look back on 2018 as the good old days when everything was better.
