The increase in crime outside the inner city is the natural result of displacement. That's what happens when you move police into the inner city and away from the east end and south end suburbs.

Unchecked minor crimes from permissive policing naturally leads to more major crimes. Only having reactive report takers in an area lays the foundation for major crimes too. Conrad and company never figured that out. They don't know how to police. They only think they do.

Venango Drive and Symington Circle are both in divisions that had their flex unit spots moved to other parts of the county, namely the unaccomplished OT-draining Metro Narcotics unit and Hibbs's west end flex platon. Over $10 million in overtime was spent last year and there's little to claim, except a slight decrease in west end homicides and a few low level drug busts, while the rest of the county has seen crime go up.

The east and south end patrol ranks have thinned too so west end replacements could be made. The administration throught they could rob Peter to pay Paul without anyone noticing. The criminals have noticed.

The shooter was caught in Florida. He killed the mother of his child and took his daughter. The police in Florida located and disabled his car thanks to OnStar. He was wearing body armor and had an AK-47. It's a good thing they're trained to carry more than a plastic pistol like here. This is the kind of unit Louisville needs but doesn't have.

"The Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) is a county-wide, multi-jurisdictional task force that focuses on violent crime in Pinellas County. The task force is comprised of law enforcement officers from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, St. Petersburg Police Department and the Clearwater Police Department."
