The media and metro council should ask Conrad and major crimes why they don't run 3 shifts of detectives in homicide or why there aren't teams on different shifts collaborating on cases. The archaic lead detective model requiring people to work 20 or more hours without sleep has gotten some poor results. Milwaukee Homicide has a 65% clearance rate using 3 shifts. We can't Redbull our way out of this problem.

Homicide det. are only work 5-6 murder cases per det. per year. That is reasonably manageable. I get more citzens complaints about homicide det. NOT returning phone calls and not being able to get in touch with one since they switched the main # to an answering machine.
