A 35% clearance rate is nothing to look down your nose at. If he were in major league baseball, he'd be a hall of famer. If you think I'm kidding, just look at the top three highest batting averages of all time...

1. Ty Cobb .366

2. Rogers Hornsby .358

3. Joe Jackson .356

If a 30% success rate is setting all time records in a game for children, I think it's not too shabby for police work.

It's shameful how officers and detectives are mis-led here. Patrol rides from report run to report run with their windows up, knows few of the career criminals and nuts on their beat, doesn't know what's happening and has no sources to tap when there's a shooting. Detectives have the idea they can kick back when they catch up on paperwork, don't know anything about source recruitment or handling.

The tiny Scott County Indiana PD just arrested 11 people in a meth ring bust. That's more people arrested than the biggest drug bust made by LMPD in 2016 or 2017, even with narcotics detectives making $50,000 in overtime. They're not the only ones either. La Grange, Henry County and Indiana detectives across the bridge have out-arrested our beleaguered metro narcotics unit the last few years.
