RE: Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin releases plan he says will fix state...
Conrad, like White, thought the feds would take over major narcotics and gang enforcement, which would allow LMPD to spend its time being a Barney Fife community relations patrol and traffic department. Both Conrad and White have always been deeply afraid of the kinds of protesters who were out in front of city hall during Gene Sherrard's time as chief. That was the last time Louisville undertook aggressive enforcement against violent felons. To their surprise, the feds here aren't interested, never have been and never will be unless Jeff Sessions decides to move some bosses here from cities like New York, where they bust *** on the street like the police do.
Someone in the media should corner them all on camera about whatever happened to Operation Trust, announced in February 2015, and LMINTEL, announced in January 2017. No one ever made an arrest under Operation Trust. LMINTEL only managed to serve a bunch of warrants in January before it broke up.
