LMPD :: Louisville Metro Police Department

Training could and should be reduced to a couple people handling training records, registrations and in-service classes unique to LMPD. If the department took advantage of what the state offers, then it could have enough trainers on hand to do things like give rifle and tactical training. Richmond can handle the routine recruit training and most in-service training. Their academy is 23 weeks. There's no need to replicate Richmond in Louisville while the department is short 200 officers in the patrol
